"Stewart's advice is sensible and easy to implement . . . This sparkling collection of tricks is catnip for dedicated entertainers, crafters, and homemakers." —Publishers Weekly

Inside these pages Martha shares all her best good things—the original life hacks for the home—to make your life easier, more fun, more delicious, and more efficient. These practical tricks cover all areas of Martha's domestic expertise, including decorating, organizing, homekeeping, cooking, entertaining, and celebrating. From clever ways to solve common problems (use file folder dividers to organize cutting boards and sheet pans in your cabinets) to time-saving tricks (keep a pail stocked with cleaning supplies for easy access and portability) to stress reducers (color-code kids' bathroom gear to make mornings less hectic), every one of these ideas will make you wonder, "Why didn't I think of that?" Also included are ways to use what you have (a Parmesan cheese rind will add great flavor to soup), streamline your stuff (use certain kitchen tools for many different purposes), or just make life a little more luxurious (add elegance to your table with DIY place cards). Whether functional, delightful, or a little bit of both, these are the details that enliven and inspire every day—that's a good thing!
"There is much to keep crafters, cooks, gardeners, and DIYers busy with new projects and methods to try. The value of the book lies firmly in its great design and its small hints and ideas, which will delight readers." —Library Journal

Visually appealing and wide-ranging in topic, this newest Stewart idea book offers a curated collection of 30 years of "Good Things," her signature offerings of useful, doable projects and tips. Projects include lining a lampshade, making a trivet out of wooden beads, building a pegboard organizational system, and decanting dish soap into pretty bottles with pour spouts. Stewart also addresses visible mending, sheet-pan suppers, painting tips and hacks, and unclogging a drain. There is much to keep crafters, cooks, gardeners, and DIYers busy with new projects and methods to try. The value of the book lies firmly in its great design and its small hints and ideas, which will delight readers. While there is much to enjoy, some readers might wish for more detailed instructions. The book's tips for entertaining, celebrations, and gatherings aren't particularly timely in the middle of this pandemic. VERDICT A treat for the eye and lovely to page through. Devotees of all things Martha Stewart will be pleased. This is the kind of books that garners steady circulation and delights readers looking for highly visual, browsable nonfiction.--Neal Wyatt, Library Journal

The ultimate recyclers, Martha Stewart and her gallant band of editors not only have mind-bogglingly complete decorating archives at their fingertips, but also the imagination of a team to count on. Who would have thought that the lowly bottle of vinegar contained so many valuable uses, including weed killer? Or that, in lieu of forgotten vacation photographs, a framed, embroidered route map would keep travel memories fresh? And that even the humble rubber band, when stretched across a paint can's top, saves splashes and paint from dripping and spattering? The book's six sections-- decorating, homekeeping, organizing, cooking, entertaining, and celebrating--contain literally hundreds of well-tested ideas readers can use, from the best ways to launder out pet hairs to building a DIY bedside shelf. With each color-drenched page featuring at least one brief and ready-to-adopt idea, it could take an entire year (and then some) to apply the very good things Martha and staff tout.
